Cost Accountant

We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Cost Accountant.

Reporting to the Manager of Accounting, the Cost Accountant will be responsible for the ongoing analysis of product costing in order to provide meaningful and accurate costing information to all levels of management, to enhance the strength and consistency of cost accounting principles and work with cross-functional peers to resolve process issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in software implementation of a manufacturing costing system;
  • Compute unit cost of organization products or services and establish cost standards, adjusting them periodically as necessitated by changes in material and/or overhead costs;
  • Analyzes actual production costs versus standard costs and prepare reports of variances for manufacturing and labor efficiency, material usage and purchase prices;
  • Prepare, analyze and report weekly, monthly, quarterly gross margin analysis by products and customers;
  • Other duties as may be required.

Qualifications:

  • University or community college graduate with a Major in Accounting and/or CPA designation;
  • Minimum five years of experience in a manufacturing environment;
  • Detail-oriented, ability to show initiative and take responsibility;
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn, coupled with self-starter and self-learning capabilities;
  • Ability to adapt to fast paced and constantly changing environments;
  • Proficiency in MS 365 or MS Office applications.
