Director of Maintenance

We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Director of Maintenance.

Reporting to Plant Manager, Director of Maintenance will be responsible for all maintenance operations as well as a key team member on future projects/expansions. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter who takes initiative, displays problem solving and decision-making abilities, has excellent organizational skills and can maintain a positive, professional attitude in a fast-paced and changing work environment. The successful candidate possesses strong interpersonal skills and sense of urgency coupled with proven ability to manage staff and build teams.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for overall maintenance department effectiveness, efficiency and safe work practices;
  • Responsible to manage and build teams as our company continues to expand;
  • Responsible for preparing budgets and monitor financial performance to plan;
  • Identify and implement new maintenance strategies and keep informed of reliability improvements;
  • Ensure operational KPI’s are met and improved on a regular basis;
  • Engage as part of the Senior Leadership Team to develop the business goals and play an active role as a leader within the business.

Qualifications:

  • Engineering Degree, Technical Diploma or Licensed Journeyman Status is mandatory;
  • 10+ years’ in a leadership role in within a maintenance department;
  • 5-10 years’ progressive management experience;
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance and CMMS;
  • Knowledge of processing and packaging equipment, automated control and HVAC systems.
  • Ability to identify and define goals, priorities, metrics and levels of success;
  • Strong sense of urgency in meeting deadlines;
  • Ability to handle projects with multiple work streams both independently and as part of a team;
  • Must be able to work in adverse conditions. i.e. Height, heat, high intensity lighting;
  • Bilingual (English and French) would be an asset.
