Director of Sanitation

We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Director of Sanitation.

 Reporting to the Senior Director of Production, this role will be responsible the ongoing workplace cleanliness and health of the facility, provision of staff hygienic supplies & apparel, as well as a key team member on future projects/expansions. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who takes initiative, displays problem solving and decision-making abilities, has excellent organizational skills and can maintain a positive, professional attitude in a fast-paced and changing work environment. The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and sense of urgency coupled with a proven ability to manage staff and build teams.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for overall facility cleanliness and health ensuring the ideal environment for products and personnel;
  • Responsible to lead and build high performance teams as our company continues to expand;
  • Responsible to drive improvement and turnover facilities/equipment in a timely manner;
  • Work alongside the other departments (PROD, MTCE, QA, CI, etc) to ensure business needs are met;
  • Ensure operational KPI’s are met and improved on a regular basis;
  • Engage as part of the Senior Leadership Team to develop the business goals and play an active role as a leader within the business;
  • Manage, motivate and provide direct leadership to the salaried and hourly Sanitation staff;
  • Manage Sanitation operating budget;
  • Motivate and provide technical support to all Sanitation employees and other facility employees as required;
  • Establish priorities, scheduling, work assignments and communicating with Sanitation staff and key stakeholders frequently and regularly within timelines;
  • Support and promote the company’s health and safety program, maintain a safe working environment and ensure continued compliance with GACP, GMP, & Organic Certifications.


  • Bachelor of Science, Microbiology, Food Science, Engineering or related field of study;
  • 10+ yrs in a senior leadership role;
  • Ability to define goals, metrics and levels of success;
  • Strong sense of urgency in meeting deadlines;
  • Ability to handle projects with multiple work streams both independently and as part of a team;
  • Bilingual (English and French) would be an asset.
