Industrial Controls Supervisor

We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Industrial Controls Supervisor.

The successful candidate will be experienced and have proven skills in leading a team in a fast-paced environment while providing structure and organization for their work planning and execution. You will be expected to prioritize and plan incoming work requests as well as pro-actively identify opportunities and requirements for improvements to our BMS and other various controls systems. We operate in a dynamic and ever-changing industry which requires a forward-thinking and creative but well thought out approach to challenges and the ability to motivate and lead team members through difficult tasks. A methodical approach to planning and execution is crucial to our controls team to ensure reliability and confidence in their data analysis and investigations.  This position requires strong problem solving and communication skills. Experience and aptitude in performing high-quality workmanship is essential and knowledge in various trades and components would be considered an asset. Excellent computer skills including MS Office Suite, programming, and BMS interfaces would be considered an asset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and ensure highest level of quality execution of work by team members;
  • Support team with technical expertise on daily tasks and larger tasks/projects;
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to team members daily and over long-term periods;
  • Ensure work is prioritized in line with department and company vision and direction;
  • Create and implement preventative and predictive maintenance strategies;
  • Provide reliable and effective equipment and system control solutions to all departments;
  • Assist other trades and personnel when required;
  • Mentor ITC apprentices;
  • Other duties as required.


  • Industrial or Construction Red Seal certification;
  • 10-15 year’s experience in controls;
  • Positive and team-oriented attitude;
  • Work safely and cooperatively in a fast paced, multiple disciplined environment;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Organized and structured work approach;
  • Fast learner with excellent problem solving skills;
  • Assertive, confident and dedicated to their responsibilities;
  • Construction and maintenance experience;
  • Willing to learn new skills and contribute to developing and implementing new work processes and methods;
  • Ability to lead, train and mentor employees;
  • Strong sense of urgency in meeting deadlines;
  • Ability to handle projects with multiple work streams both independently and as part of a team with multiple deadlines.
