Project Engineering Manager

We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Project Engineering Manager.

Reporting to the Director of Maintenance and Engineering, the Project Engineering Manager (PEM) has overall responsibility for capital projects assigned to him or her. From conceptual design through to successful commissioning is the PEM’s responsibility. This position requires a BSc in Engineering and will mentor Engineering in Training candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety of crew, facilities and equipment;
  • Adherence by employees and contractors to OGI’s policies, procedures, GMP and safety;
  • Meeting with stakeholders to conceptualize project, define scope, budget and schedule;
  • Identifying, manage and minimize project risk w.r.t. goals, budget and schedule;
  • Resource planning and ordering equipment and materials;
  • Working and negotiating contracts with partners and vendors;
  • Project status communication to stakeholders;
  • Commissioning and handover to stakeholders;
  • Providing status reports to Director of Maintenance and Engineering;
  • Providing direction, technical expertise and assistance to employees and contractors;
  • Identifying and implementing technical advancements;
  • Mentoring Engineers-in-Training;
  • Other duties as may be required.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering preferred;
  • Currently or ability for immediate registration in province of New Brunswick as a Professional Engineer;
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience leading projects in industrial environment;
  • Project Management certification desired;
  • Experience processing and packaging equipment projects preferred;
  • Experience in supervising trades and contractors;
  • Knowledge of applicable building and electrical codes;
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and shift priorities quickly and be flexible.
