Maintenance Electrician

We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Maintenance Electrician.

The Maintenance Electrician is responsible to install, maintain, test, troubleshoot, repair and service electrical equipment and associated electrical controls such as motors, generators, heavy duty machines, illumination systems, environmental regulating systems, communication systems and associated electrical and electronic controls.  The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, mathematical and problem-solving skills to interpret schematics, drawings, specification and logically solve complex equipment failure causes and use timely repair solutions.  You take initiative, display problem-solving and decision-making abilities, have excellent organizational skills and maintain a positive, professional attitude in a fast-paced and changing work environment. 

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, equipment, components and machinery;
  • Specify, source and install electrical equipment and components;
  • Install, validate and calibrate industrial sensors for accuracy and repeatability;
  • Install examine, maintain, replace or repair electrical equipment and components;
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on equipment;
  • Assist with development and writing of preventative and predictive maintenance programs and procedures;
  • Monitor, program and operate PLC and DCS control equipment;
  • Assist other trades and personnel when required;
  • Mentor electrical apprentices;
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Industrial or Construction Red Seal certification;
  • Minimum of 5 years industrial experience with preference given to manufacturing experience;
  • Ability to lead, train and mentor employees;
  • Strong sense of urgency in meeting deadlines;
  • Ability to handle projects with multiple work streams both independently and as part of a team;
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
