Mr. Engel is a senior executive with 30 years of national and international experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, cannabis and consumer packaged goods industries. Mr. Engel has led the creation, development and growth of several companies over the span of his career. An articulate and trusted voice in the burgeoning Canadian cannabis space, Mr. Engel most recently worked with a competitive licensed producer to become the first Canadian exporter of medical cannabis, as well as the establishment of several trailblazing industry standards. As leader at Organigram Inc, Mr. Engel is focused on reputational excellence through product quality and safety, expansion of the company’s Moncton, N.B. facility, and production efficiencies to position the company as a leader in the Medical and Adult Recreational Cannabis industries. Mr. Engel graduated from the University of Guelph with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Microbiology.
As Senior Vice President of Operations, Mr. Purcell brings over 25 years of experience to the role, most recently as Vice President of Operations at Ganong Bros. Limited with responsibilities including implementation of quality systems, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives. While in the role, he was also responsible for a significant facility expansion, essentially creating an entirely new production environment. Prior to Ganong, Mr. Purcell spent over 15 years in progressively senior roles leading operations at McCain Foods.
Paolo De Luca assumed the role as the Company’s Chief Financial Officer on December 19, 2017. With more than 20 years of diversified financial business experience, Mr. De Luca has held senior financial, investor relations, and accounting leadership roles at companies including West Face Capital, one of Canada’s leading alternative asset management firms; Meridian LNG; Potash Ridge; C.A. Bancorp; and TD Securities. With this diverse industry and international background, he has extensive experience with both traditional and non-traditional financing and debt offerings. Mr. De Luca is a graduate of York University’s Schulich School of Business.
As the previous Senior Director of Sales and Marketing for Moosehead Breweries Ltd., Mr. Gracewood is a leading brand and marketing professional in Atlantic Canada. With more than 15 years’ experience in the marketing space, he is a strong speaker on brand, packaging and positioning, both locally and throughout North America. He has extensive experience in building and developing brands, positioning and segmentation. Mr. Gracewood holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, from the University of New Brunswick.
Mr. Emberg, Vice President of Sales and Commercial Operations, is an accomplished, bilingual, senior sales and marketing leader with a proven track record in healthcare, OTC and CPG organizations including Roche Canada, Jamieson Laboratories and Frito-Lay Canada. Mr. Emberg also brings an extensive knowledge of the Canadian market access and regulatory environments to the role which will be an asset moving forward.
As VP of Sales and Commercial Operations, his role is to lead both the Recreational and Medical sales organizations while ensuring that Organigram is well established and strongly represented nationally. Mr. Emberg will also play a key role in other commercially driven initiatives that will help set the stage for future growth and development of the organization while further enhancing Organigrams position as an industry leader in Canada.
A proven leader in the international cannabis and CBD marketplace, Mr. Delmonte joined the Organigram team following two and a half years as Director and Chief Executive Officer at ICC Labs Inc., a leading international hemp and cannabis producer. In this role, he successfully oversaw the ICC's initial public offering (IPO) as the first South American cannabis company to go public with a first day valuation of more than $120 million CAD. He has also held financial and business development leadership roles at companies including BBVA Bank, Technit Group, Credit Agricole Bank, United Nations Uruguay and Bank ITAU. Mr. Delmonte is a Certified Public Accountant from the ORT University of Uruguay and holds a Financial Advisor certificate from the Institut d'Estudis Financers Barcelona, Spain.
Mr. Tripp is the Chief Legal & Corporate Affairs Officer of Organigram Holdings Inc. As an early participant in the cannabis space, he is well versed in navigating the regulatory matters facing Licensed Producers and has a strong corporate and securities law skill set with which to serve the company. Mr. Tripp has been involved with Organigram at an early stage and has worked to promote the organizational growth. He draws on prior experience as the Corporate Secretary & General Counsel to a TSX-V listed issuer, along with strong private practice experience with leading firms on Bay Street and elsewhere. He is the founder of Tripp | Business Law -a recognized boutique business law firm in New Brunswick specializing in corporate and securities law.
Mr. Tripp earned his Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Commerce degrees at Saint Mary’s University and received both his law and civil law degrees at the University of Ottawa. Admitted to the New Brunswick and Ontario Bars in 2005 and 2007 respectively. He is a registered trade-mark agent and has completed the Canadian Securities Course, the Licensing Executive Course, the Osgoode Securities Law & Regulation Course. He has served as a board member and the Treasurer of the University of Ottawa Alumni Association, as an advisory board member of the McKenzie College Technology Accelerator, and as a board member of Music New Brunswick and Squash Moncton. He is the author of the seminal text on the New Brunswick Business Corporations Act published by Lexis-Nexis.
