MONCTON, NB, Nov. 22, 2018 - In the months since the Cannabis Act came into effect and the adult recreational market opened, Canadian medical cannabis patients have had to adjust. While many changes have improved patient access, the opening of this new market has affected some negatively.
We recognize that some patients have struggled post-legalization, as producers across Canada experience supply shortages and implement purchase limits on medical products.
We are pleased to report that in the months both leading up to and following recreational legalization, we have upheld our commitment to maintain a steady supply of high-quality medical cannabis products for our patients.
Since we announced our first recreational supply agreement in September 2017, we have affirmed our commitment to serving patients and foremost. To us, patient care is priority #1.
While the Organigram Web Store is stocked with a diverse selection of flower and blend offerings, we would like to highlight the uninterrupted availability of Organigram’s full suite of cannabis oils.
Our four oils, Rossignol, Banook, Utopia and Shubie, have remained in constant supply with no restocking periods since October 17. Rest assured, we have allocated supply to ensure these oil products remain readily available to patients in the months to come. Further, we’ve committed to cover the new $1/gram federal excise tax to ensure patients do not see an increase in the cost of their medication. Patient support programs, including the Compassionate Care Program (voted by patients as the very best in the country) and Veteran Support Program, remain in effect.
